The KIT Royal Tropical Institute

After seventeen years of construction the Colonial Institute was finished in 1927. A place created especially for gaining knowledge about the cultures of the Dutch colonies. Later the institute was transformed to the KIT Royal Tropical Institute and it has been creating a better world ever since! Since 2017 the institute the first SDG-House of the Netherlands and offers several office spaces to companies that assist the United Nations in realising the Sustainable Development Goals.

By hosting all sorts of events, such as European Women Payments Network (EWPN), TEDxWomen and several medical congresses, the Conferences & Events team of the KIT, support the knowledge units of the KIT with the focus on Health, Sustainable Economic Development and Gender.

The RAI Amsterdam

Amsterdam RAI Exhibition and Convention Centre (commonly known as Amsterdam RAI) is a complex of conference and exhibition halls in the Zuidas business district of AmsterdamNetherlands.

Opened in 1961, the RAI welcomed its 75 millionth visitor in February 2001. Up to 2 million people visit the RAI every year. Some 50 international conferences and 70 trade shows are held at the RAI annually. The complex consists of 22 conference rooms and 11 halls and has a total floor space of 87,000 m². The largest hall can seat 12,900 people. The complex also includes a musical and concert theatre and underground parking space for over 3,000 cars.

It gives its name to the nearby Amsterdam RAI railway station.
