1.ORGANISATIONS

Three different awards will be awarded to organisations that continue to strive for more diversity and inclusion and can demonstrate their commitment and actions to promote; encourage and implement more diversity and inclusion within their organisations.

1. The Diversity Award (‘TDA’)

The annual TDA Award will be awarded to one organisation that can demonstrate its support, promotion and embracing of diversity and inclusion by meeting at least 3 (or more) of the following criteria:

  • Have more than 30% female and/or minority background at executive level
  • Have more than 30% female and/or minority background at senior management level
  • Have board approved polices for ensuring gender parity on opportunity and reward
  • Have board approved policies and/or programmes for promoting diversity, inclusion and/or non-discrimination
  • Demonstrable initiatives internal or external to promote gender and diversity (equality; opportunity; representation and reward)
  • Demonstrable support for charities and NGOs supporting gender parity and diversity in industry and society

 

2. The Pink Chip Employer Award (PCEA)

The PCEA Award will be awarded to one organisation that can  demonstrate that it is the best place to work for female employees based on policies and environment of the organisation meeting at least 3 of the following criteria:

  • Demonstrate flexibility with work policies, especially for working mothers
  • Is rated the best place to work for by more than 55% of employees
  • Have clear policies of promoting diversity; inclusion and gender parity on opportunity and reward
  • Demonstrable support for females though leadership and/or mentoring opportunities/programmes
  • Demonstrates a positive environment that promotes nurturing of female talent
  • Demonstrable involvement of the entire organisation, especially men, to address issues of diversity and equality
  • Has equal or shared maternity/paternity leave
  • Has a programme encouraging female returnees after maternity/paternity leave

3. FinTech Startup of the Year

The Fintech Startup Award will be awarded to a startup offering disruptive solutions as new applications, processes, products or business models in the financial services or insurance industry e.g. payments, blockchain/distribution ledger, lending platforms, etc. The awards will be given to a startup meeting at least 3 of the following criteria:

  • Startup must be ideally 6 or less years old and has shown the most entrepreneurial success in the past year in FinTech/Payments.
  • European entity i.e. a new, up-and-coming FinTech/Payments company in Europe
  • Recognises innovation (e.g., solves a technology need or disrupts an existing service, captures a new sector or market with FinTech/Payments, disrupts a market segment, or ability to obtain traction in the international marketplace.)
  • Scalable business with a strong team
  • Clear financial business model
  • Clear marketing model to grow from startup to scale-up
  • Can show proven track record, so idea has already been proven to be successful
  • Up and running

 

2. INDIVIDUALS

Five different awards will be awarded to outstanding women and leaders who can demonstrate clear leadership, mentorship, integrity, ethical standards, and professionalism and continue to make positive contribution to the industry. These individuals have to meet the criteria indicated in each award.

1. The Trailblazer Award

Trailblazers create their own career path in sectors, disciplines or professions where women and minority groups are absent or under-represented. Their pathways to success have demanded a strong vision and determination that vanquishes isolation and self-doubt to create a place not only for themselves but for other women and minority groups who will follow. The TPA award is a lifetime achievement award that will be awarded to one individual who meets the following criteria:

  • Made tremendous contribution to the industry
  • Has blazed the trail where there was none before or continues to trail the blaze
  • Is not shy to speak up or call out inequality and discrimination
  • A well recognised individual in the industry
  • An advocate or evangelist for diversity and inclusion in the industry
  • Known for being a good mentor to fellow women in the industry
  • Holds high integrity, ethical and professional standards
  • An innovator or is well know to have set a trend in the industry
  • Plays a very visible role in the industry
  • A known fintech or payments evangelist

2. The Young Innovator (TYI)

The TYI Award will be awarded to one women under age of 45 years who can demonstrate innovation that has been spearheaded by them or is in the process of implementation at the time of nomination. This will be awarded to a woman meeting the following criteria:

  • Holds high integrity, ethical and professional standards
  • An innovator or is well know to have set a trend in the industry
  • Plays a very visible role in the industry
  • A known payments evangelist
  • Very vocal and very active in the industry to promote, showcase expertise and share about a specific subject matter

3. The Positive Trouble Maker (TPTM)

The TPTM Awards will be awarded to one woman and one man ally who has been and continues to be very vocal in promoting diversity & inclusion in the industry, advocates for safe environment and equality. This will go to a recipient who demonstrates their belief that diverse organisations are better run, more successful and more innovative than homogeneous ones through personal action and advocacy. This will be awarded to an individual  meeting at least 3 of the following criteria:

  • Displays high integrity, ethical and professional standards
  • Responsible and champions internal and/or external policies and processes to maximise the contributions and influence of a diverse team in their workforce and/or across the industry
  • Known as the go-to person in the industry
  • The individual should be an active sponsor, mentor and promoter of gender equality.
  • Doesn’t hesitate to loudly advocate, promote and fight for diversity in the industry
  • A known fintech or payments evangelist
  • Plays a very visible role in the industry
  • Goes extra mile to create positive environment to encourage innovation, diversity and leadership
  • Speaks up and is not afraid to point out non-inclusive or downright bad behaviour
  • Has no problem publicly calling out and refusing to participate in  “Manels”

4. Emerging FinTech/Payment Leader of the Year

The Emerging FinTech/Payment Leader Award will be awarded to one (woman or man) rising star and aspiring leader, between the ages of 18 and 35, in fintech and payments who is making a mark in the industry. This will be awarded to an individual  meeting at least 3 of the following criteria:

  • Strong leadership and management potential
  • Demonstrated a commitment to fintech innovation that delivers benefits to investors, businesses and/or consumers
  • Exceptional skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • A significant impact on their company or business
  • Recognition of their personal brand and network and impact of this on their career
  • A commitment to personal development and a clear vision of the goals they have for themselves

5. FinTech/Payments Leader of the Year

The Fintech/ Payments Leader of the Year Award will be awarded to one woman or man, older than 35 years, who has demonstrated the most leadership in FinTech/Payments. This award recognises a person who has had shaped the FinTech/Payments dialogue and supported the FinTech community in Europe. This will be awarded to an individual  meeting the following criteria:

  • Strong leadership and management potential
  • Demonstrated a commitment to fintech innovation that delivers benefits to investors, businesses and/or consumers
  • Exceptional skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholders
  • A significant impact on their company or business
  • Recognition of their personal brand and network and impact of this on their career
  • A commitment to personal development and a clear vision of the goals they have for themselves
  • Working or based in Europe
  • Recognises thought leadership
  • Must have been in FinTech/Payments for over 3 years
  • Must be a notable person

 

3. JUDGE’S CHOICE AWARD

1. The Closet Hero Award

This award will be given to the person who has saved the day but never got formal acknowledgement for their sacrifice. The award will be given to a key player in the FinTech/Payments industry who has demonstrated thought leadership and ecosystem engagement, as decided upon by the EWPN 2019 Judges
