Roger Alexander NED- Valitor

Roger is a seasoned payments industry professional with an active non-executive and advisory portfolio. Over the last 15 years, Roger has held a variety of non-executive positions on public and private boards on both sides of the Atlantic including a number of companies regulated by the FSA in the UK and other regulatory authorities across Europe. Most recently, in 2015 Roger became a non-executive director of Valitor – an international payment solutions company headquartered in Iceland, and AvantCard, a major card issuer in Ireland. Roger is also active as an Advisor to Private Equity businesses and sits on the Payments Advisory Group for Pennies, the Digital Charity Box.

Roger was CEO of Elavon Merchant Services, one of Europe’s major acquirers, and formerly also the CEO of S2 Card Services Limited (previously Switch), the UK’s major domestic debit card scheme, and a partner in Edgar, Dunn & Company, a US strategic consultancy specialising in payment systems. Roger started his career with Barclays Bank, where he spent 31 years in a variety of roles, culminating in 1994 in his appointment as a Director of Barclaycard and Managing Director of the Barclays Bank Emerging Markets Group.

Roger holds a degree from London University, a Marketing Diploma from Harvard and a non-executive director diploma from the Cranfield School of Management.
